Stars use networks like Instagram, TikTok, and others to communicate with followers, fulfil promotional obligations, and raise awareness for various charitable causes. They give brief peeks into their personal lives, and fans may engage with their favourite celebrities in ways that were previously unheard of by following them on social media. Not all celebrities, meanwhile, are eager to interact on social media. While some people are quite active across many platforms, others keep a more understated presence. Where does Margot Robbie fit into this, then?

In actuality, the majority of them are fan accounts.

So, why has Robbie chosen to eschew social media in this way? One answer is that she just prefers to maintain a degree of privacy and keeps her private and public life separate. Goodwood Festival Of Speed Dress Code

Goodwood Festival Of Speed Dress Code

The Goodwood Motor Circuit, one of the most legendary venues in British motorsport, has roots dating back to the 1940s.

It hosts the Festival of Speed every summer, a three-day auto spectacle that brings together vintage cars and cutting-edge supercars to honour the sport's past, present, and future.

Why is Goodwood so well-known?

Britain's first post-war racing meet was held at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, which had its official opening in September 1948.

The ninth Duke of Richmond and well-known amateur racer Freddie March started it.

Since the start of the war, racing action had been scarce, thus thousands of spectators came to watch 85 drivers race.

A famous chapter in British motorsport history came to a close when Goodwood Motor Circuit announced that it would stop hosting modern motor racing 18 years later, in August 1966.

The Festival of Speed, which was founded in 1993 by the grandson of the Duke of Richmond, brought racing back to Goodwood, thus this was not the end.

At the circuit's first-ever racing event, the Duke himself took the wheel of the identical Bristol 400 that his grandpa had driven all those years earlier.

Here is all the information you require on the 2020 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

What time is the 2020 Festival of Speed?

While the exact dates have not yet been determined, the 2020 Festival of Speed is anticipated to take place from July 9 to July 13.

The 2019 festival took place between 4 and 7 July.

What might we anticipate from the 2020 Festival of Speed?

The Hillclimb is the most recognisable feature of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Hillclimb has a long history, dating back to the ninth Duke in 1936, and is a well-known favourite among spectators.

In its current form, groups of vintage and contemporary automobiles challenge the hill twice daily over the festival in an effort to conquer its punishing gradient.

Romain Dumas and his electric Volkswagen I.D. R recently set a new record, so the competition is guaranteed to be fierce the next time around.

Of course, there is a lot more to see given the three full days of events scheduled.

With a number of interesting, interactive events focusing on the future of automotive technology, the FOS Future Lab gives visitors a peek of what's to come.

The Future Lab's lineup, which includes flying automobiles, smart cities, and artificial intelligence, reads like a page from an old sci-fi novel in the nicest manner conceivable.

Which famous people will be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed?

Nigel Mansell and Sir Jackie Stewart, two well-known figures in motorsport, were sighted at the event, but it appears that other athletes, actors, and musicians couldn't help themselves either. Along with Jodie Kidd and Tim Peake from Sussex, fans flocked to obtain photos with David Beckham, Sir Chris Hoy, and other celebrities.

Which day is ideal for visiting Goodwood?

Friday is a low-key day, whereas the weekend's two busiest days are Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, there is a lot going on throughout these two days in terms of cars, drivers, celebrities, and track driving action.

Lockdown Sitcom With David Tennant And Michael Sheen

Lockdown Sitcom With David Tennant And Michael Sheen

Lockdown sitcom starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen. We'll look for the best solution to this specific crossword clue. The answers to the puzzle item "Lockdown sitcom starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen" are provided below. In the Daily Quick Crossword, it was last seen. Our database contains only one potential response.

These can be beneficial: without our neighbourhood WhatsApp group, which brought together neighbours who had never met before and which this week was used to arrange a tree-planting petition, dump a dog's car seat, and make a request for a pair of handcuffs (for a school play, I promise), I would now be lost. However, they can also be detrimental, particularly if they are intransigent about using Zoom for meetings. "I'll send you a link to Zoom." No! Why is making a phone call bad? or a face-to-face meeting? Stop acting so strange.

Staged, starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant, started out as a locked Zoom project. However, look at where we are now: series three in 2023. Tennant has at least changed his location; in the first episode, it is shown that he is filming a cream cheese commercial in Japan, while Sheen is still stranded in front of that fireplace in south Wales.

The chemistry hasn't really changed either: Sheen is jaded, Tennant is hyperactive and mildly unpleasant, and both have big egos. Watching them push each other's buttons is still entertaining. "Wait a minute, did you dye your hair?" Sheen is asked, and despite the fact that his hair now appears suspiciously dark, he twitches and denies it. The actors enjoy making fun of themselves. Sheen (who is so Welsh that last week he told the Telegraph he finds it hard to accept non-Welsh actors playing Welsh characters) bemoans the fact that people have asked him to produce a rendition of Under Milk Wood and claims that they can't swing an f---ing cat for them.

Actually, Simon Evans, who plays the director who initially brought these two together but then made the stupid decision to pursue other projects, is the best comedy performer in episode one. He returns crawling in the hopes of securing Sheen and Tennant for another series because it turns out that no one wanted any of his projects that did not involve them. They initially reject him, but he cunningly seduces them.

This review now faces a challenge. I can't say what occurs at the end of episode two since doing so would be a major spoiler, but it will cause you to reconsider everything you've just witnessed. You will either think this is a brilliant meta-move and wish they had stopped at series two, or you will find it too smart by half. I belong to the latter group.

On July 11 and 12, 2023, Amazon Prime Day will take place. Decidedly mark your calendars! Set your watches in sync! Bring in the town crier! The 2023 edition of Amazon Prime Day is going to be a doozy, so keep checking back for updates if you want to take advantage of the special offers.

Customers were spoiled with not one, but two Prime Day bargains the previous year. Yes, you did read that right. In October, there was a second two-day sale event dubbed "Prime Early Access Sale." Shoppers had a second chance to save money as the holidays approached for those who missed the huge sale over the summer. The second autumn event may return this year, although there has been no confirmation as of yet.

What is Prime Day?

Glad you inquired! During a roughly 48-hour period known as Prime Day, the Bezos-built juggernaut floods Amazon Prime members with lightning bargains, sparking a spending frenzy. Simply put: Being an Amazon Prime member entitles you to some of the biggest savings the giant e-tailer has to offer. All day long, products from what seems like every section of the retailer's website—from cool gadgets to necessary household supplies to, well, anything Alexa—will be discounted. You might truly want some of them. You may actually require a few of these. Additionally, you won't have much luck obtaining some of them. (It all can be a little bit daunting.)

Although Amazon isn't the first place we'd go, we were pleasantly surprised to find a lot more style-editor-approved items on sale last year, from watches to sweatshirts. Do you need a new razor or toothbrush? It's always a fantastic idea to purchase inexpensive grooming supplies on Prime Day. Of course, Prime Day will be significant if you've been holding off on purchasing new furniture and bed linens to tidy up your apartment—or, heck, any of those vaguely unsettling AI-powered Amazon devices. Thus, what will Amazon Prime Day 2023 entail? There are numerous average deals you can pass up and only a select few genuine discounts deserving of your valuable time and money.

Amazon Prime Day Deals Canada 2023

Let's get right to it: July 11 and 12, 2023, are Amazon Prime Day dates.

As of now, there isn't any announcement on whether the second fall event will make a comeback this year.

Why should I care about Prime Day?

It's like a second, slightly warmer Black Friday that typically takes place in the middle of the week. This is effectively Amazon's Black Friday, except Black Friday is also Amazon's Black Friday. Although it's unclear how this Prime Day will differ from the one from the previous year, we're quite sure there will be at least a few constants. There will undoubtedly be a few once-in-a-blue-moon deals, some of which may vanish nearly as quickly as you can click "add to cart." These deals include some spicier offerings on everything Apple, Bose, and Sony. If you like to plan ahead, you might even take advantage of the day to finish your holiday shopping sooner than normal. However, the main reason why you should give it some thought is if you have a list of items that you've been meaning to buy, especially if they include items like a brand-new iPad or a fresh set of AirPods, you probably won't find them cheaper at any other time of the year.

The Lucky Man Must Guard $100,000 Against Exploding TNT

The focus of this adrenaline-fueled endeavour turned out to be a chosen participant named Will who was chosen through an unspecified procedure.

The first thing I did to preserve my money was to purchase 12 industrial water containers and fill them with 20,000 pounds of water. TNT has built a seven-layer fortress using mattresses, cinder block walls, four mattresses, and an extra 32 000 pounds of water, all of which are placed inside of a final wall of soil.

On the wall, he also hung Feastable Son.

The participant faced the difficult task of protecting the big cash reward with nothing but his brains and cunning.

The Fierce Showdown

It became increasingly tense as time went on. The contender displayed a blend of accuracy, quickness, and fast thinking as they expertly disarmed the explosive devices. TNT held the key to the $50,000's future.

He defused every explosive device with dexterity and sheer willpower, protecting the prized $95,000 in the process. TNT was only burned for $5000.

Conclusion

The lucky man in MrBeast's most recent film, "Train vs. Giant Pit," was entrusted with defending $100,000 from detonating TNT. Viewers were riveted by the contestant's heart-pounding quest to protect the $100,000 prize while dodging a number of explosive devices.

Dutch Government Collapses

Dutch Government Collapses

After failing to achieve an agreement on immigration restrictions, the Dutch government disintegrated on Friday. This will cause new elections to be held in the autumn.

When two of the four parties in Prime Minister Mark Rutte's coalition administration refused to endorse his conservative VVD party's call to restrict the number of asylum seekers entering the Netherlands, a crisis resulted.

It is well known that the coalition's members hold different views on immigration. Sadly, we now have to draw the conclusion that these divisions are now insurmountable. Therefore, I will present the king with the resignation of the entire cabinet, Rutte stated during a broadcast press conference.

When Rutte demanded backing for a plan to ban the entry of children of war refugees who are already in the Netherlands and to require families to wait at least two years before being reunited, tensions reached a peak this week.

The newest idea caused a deadlock because it was too extreme for the liberal D66 and the tiny Christian Union.

Rutte's coalition will continue in office as a caretaker administration until fresh elections are held, which often takes months in the shattered Dutch political system.

Elections will not take place before the middle of November, according to news agency ANP, which cited the national elections body.

The Netherlands already has one of the strictest immigration laws in Europe, but under pressure from right-wing groups, Rutte had been looking for months for measures to further cut back on the number of people applying for asylum.

The government has predicted that asylum applications in the Netherlands could rise to above 70,000 this year, surpassing the previous high of 2015. Last year, asylum applications increased by a third to over 46,000.

This will put more burden on the nation's asylum camps, where hundreds of refugees at a time were made to sleep in the open without access to drinking water, sanitary facilities, or medical care for months last year.

After Medecins sans Frontieres sent a team to the Netherlands for the first time ever to help with refugees' medical requirements at the centre for processing asylum requests, Rutte admitted last year that he was "ashamed" of the issues.

He pledged to make the facilities better, primarily by lowering the flow of refugees into the Netherlands. However, he was unable to get the support of coalition allies who thought his measures went too far.

After Hungary's Viktor Orban, Rutte, 56, has served as the head of state for the Netherlands the longest. At the upcoming elections, he is anticipated to continue leading his VVD party.

Since becoming prime minister in October 2010, Rutte has served in four successive administrations, the most recent of which took office in January 2022.

Has the Dutch government crumbled?

On Friday, the Dutch government of Prime Minister Mark Rutte abruptly disintegrated due to disagreements over immigration policy.

The Dutch government has vanished?

Since 1588, The Hague has served as the Netherlands' capital. The Netherlands' States General are located in the Binnenhof.

What caused the Dutch government to fall?

The Dutch four-party coalition government disintegrated after 18 months in office due to acrimonious disagreements over immigration policy. The centre-left D66 and Christian Union parties opposed the stronger policies that were sought by the CDA and the Prime Minister's VVD party.

Espn Layoffs Max Kellerman

Around 20 ESPN on-air personalities were reportedly being let go before this past weekend as part of The Walt Disney firm's widespread round of layoffs and budget cuts as the firm strives to save $5.5 billion in total costs. The names of those who were officially fired included David Pollack, Jalen Rose, Jordan Cornette, Suzy Kolber, Max Kellerman, Jeff Van Gundy, Keyshawn Johnson, Matt Hasselbeck, Chris Chelios, Steve Young, Rob Ninkovich, Neil Everett, Ashley Brewer, Joon Lee, LaPhonso Ellis, Todd McShay, and Jason Fitz. Network A-lister Stephen A. Smith is now providing an update on the situation via his podcast, The Stephen A. Smith Show.

Smith: "As you are all aware, I work for ESPN. 'First Take' is my day job. Additionally, a large number of people lost their jobs. Friends of mine truly had the utmost respect for their outstandingly performing coworkers who deserved more. They didn't deserve better from Disney or ESPN, though. They were due better than the times we are in right now. Everyone connected to ESPN knew this day would come when Disney said 7000 layoffs would take place. Individual people were praying it wasn't them.

According to Smith, "More Is Coming": "But if we're going to be honest about it. Let's face the facts. There is yet hope. More will follow. And I might be the next, ladies and gentlemen. And one thing about Stephen A. is that it's not 2009. I honestly didn't see it enter. Now, my eyes are constantly open. I never feel at ease. I never assume that I am safe or take anything for granted.

Keyshawn Johnson, my brother, according to Smith. Compared to many others, I now have a much closer personal relationship with him. We've known one other for more than 20 years. Sad to see him go, though. But I will personally miss him because of what he did for First Take, what he did for me, what he did for my life, and just because he was my big brother and a buddy. I'm devoted to him. He will be okay, I am confident of it.

My brother Keyshawn Johnson, according to Smith. I now feel a lot stronger personal connection to him than I did previously compared to many others. We have been friends for more than 20 years. But it's sad to see him depart. But more than anything, I will miss him because of what he did for First Take, for me, for my life, and just because he was my big brother and a friend. I am committed to him. I have no doubts that he will be alright.

Roller Coaster Stuck Upside Down

Roller Coaster Stuck Upside Down

At a carnival in Wisconsin on Monday, a roller coaster experienced technical failure, leaving eight thrill seekers dangling upside down for hours.

At the Forest County Festival in Crandon, roughly 100 miles northwest of Green Bay, a Fireball roller coaster malfunctioned near the top of a loop, trapping the passengers inside, according to local authorities.

Emergency services were called to the festival site at the Crandon International Offroad Raceway just after 1:30 p.m. local time, according to Brennan Cook, chief of the Crandon Fire Department.

About two hours later, the first trapped person was released, and the final one was brought down well before 5 o'clock. Medical personnel treated nine patients on-site, and one was transferred to a hospital, according to the authorities.

"Due to the height of the ride, specialised technical rescue teams and mutual aid equipment were needed to remove riders from ride," Mr. Cook added.

Social media videos showed a rescuer climbing the edge of the disabled ride while the passengers' hands were turned upside down.

Firefighters from three districts and search and rescue teams were enlisted to assist.

The Crandon Fire Department was given advice on potential rescue strategies by an off-duty firefighter with specialised rope rescue training who just so happened to be on the spot, Mr. Cook continued.

A ladder truck from the City of Antigo in Langlade eventually showed there and was able to reach the passengers.

The stranded passengers and rescuers were roped together during the rescue, Antigo Fire/EMS's Erica Kostichka reported WAOW.

According to Ms. Kostichka, "Our department has never encountered a situation like we did yesterday."

Where was the roller coaster accident in Wisconsin?

Visitors to the Crandon, Wisconsin, fair were placed in a scary situation on Sunday after a malfunction caused riders to become stranded upside down for many hours.

Why don't I get thrown off an upside-down roller coaster?

The answer is that inertia prevents you from slipping out. Resistance to a direction shift is known as inertia. It maintains your pressure against the car's floor with a force greater than gravity.

How did the girl involved in the roller coaster accident fare?

The 26-year-old Melbourne lady was struck by a rollercoaster travelling at 70 km/h last month and is still in critical condition. The event left Ms. Rodden with numerous fractured bones and significant brain damage, but this didn't stop the comedians from making fun of her plight.

Carven Park Hull

Carven Park Hull

For sponsorship purposes, the rugby league stadium formerly known as Craven Park Hull is now known as the Sewell Group Craven Park Stadium and is situated in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. One of the two professional rugby league teams headquartered in the city, Hull Kingston Rovers, calls it home.

In 1989, Hull Kingston Rovers relocated from the Old Craven Park, which was located on Holderness Road, to the new stadium. The brand-new venue introduced hospitality boxes for Rugby League for the first time. The Hull Vikings speedway team once called the stadium home, but they moved out when Hull Kingston Rovers needed to use it for Super League play. The inaugural game was played against Trafford Borough in front of an 8,500-person capacity crowd. The team successfully ushered in the new era and was named Division Two winners that year.

The pitch and the playing surface were significantly upgraded in 2006 as the club worked to get back into the top division of English rugby league. Hull City Council, in collaboration with Kingston Community Developments Limited and Hull Kingston Rovers, announced that terms for lease agreements had been reached to support the long-term future of Craven Park shortly after plans were floated in 2007 for Hull Kingston Rovers to relocate from Craven Park to a new purpose-built rugby league stadium to be built at a new, unconfirmed site. These conditions made it possible to move on with stadium development and investment.

The first step in renovating Craven Park was to lease-purchase a temporary seated north stand from Wentworth Golf Club so that visiting away supporters could no longer utilise the insufficient south terrace. 2008 saw the start of Hull Kingston Rovers' second Super League season as well as the expansion of the East Stand's standing terraces. The stand's capacity was extended by 1,120 with this extension, increasing its total capacity to 4,750. Plans for a similar extension to the opposite end of the stand, which would have increased capacity by 1,200 once more, were made in 2009, but the construction of a new North Stand took precedence in 2011, therefore this expansion was shelved.

After the temporary Wentworth Golf Club stand was removed in 2012, development on the new £8.2 million mixed amenities North Stand commenced. Initial plans were for the new stand to be finished midway through the 2013 campaign, with a Hull FC derby scheduled as the first game. However, disagreements between the team, Hull City Council, and construction managers NPS caused the opening to be postponed to 2014. Due to disagreements, the North Stand was painted sky blue rather than the original intended colour of red. Club director Neil Hudgell feared the stand would turn into a "glorified office block" as a result of the controversy. The new North Stand will be known as the "Colin Hutton North Stand" after it opens in honour of the former Hull KR head coach and coach of Great Britain's national rugby league side.

In 2018, Craven Park broke its previous attendance record, which stood at 11,181 for the season opener against the Leeds Rhinos in 2015. In a Good Friday derby, Hull FC defeated Hull Kingston Rovers in front of 12,090 people at the stadium.

Hull Kingston Rovers declared a "major incident" after a floodlight collapsed in November 2018 and moved staff and players to the University of Hull for off-season training. The club moved one preseason game in 2019 and would return to Craven Park in late January while utilising a temporary floodlight.

Inter Miami Lionel Messi

Inter Miami Lionel Messi

Before superstars Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets arrived in the MLS, Inter Miami drama gave Lionel Messi a lifeline. To maintain their tenuous playoff aspirations, the Herons grabbed a thrilling point against the Columbus Crew.

It is simple to overlook the fact that Inter Miami has had a somewhat forgettable season on the pitch after spectacular transfers and the promise of additional deals.

Even if it seems like a long time ago, Phil Neville was only fired from his position as head coach of the Herons a little over a month ago, when the team was languishing at the bottom of the MLS Western Conference. Since then, things haven't exactly changed either, and the ailing team entered its most recent match having lost seven straight games.

There is actually no doubt that reinforcements have long been needed if they are to stop the decline given their record of just five victories and thirteen losses during this current campaign. The MLS transfer window is already open, which is a blessing for the ambitious owners of the young team who want to add fresh players.

Arriving superstars Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets will, however, have their job cut out for them once they arrive in America. Having said that, despite the South Beach team's struggles thus far this season, a thrilling 2-2 tie in the dying seconds against the Columbus Crew will give the team's newest members hope that they can turn things around.

When Ohio's opponents scored on either side of a goal by Leonardo Campana to make it 2-1 in extra time, it appeared as though Vice City was about to suffer yet another loss. With a well-placed left-footed volley, Darlington Nagbe gave the Crew the lead, but Miami quickly answered through Campana, who headed the ball past custodian Patrick Schulte.

They were level for just 12 minutes, however, Inter Miami's defence unit lost focus, allowing Christian Ramirez to seem to lead his club to a victory on the road. However, it was fortunate that Josef Martinez was there to give his team a point and prevent their seventh loss in eight games.

The vivacious Campana delivered a precisely placed cross into the box, finding the Venezuelan forward who was able to score with a magnificent bicycle kick and enter league history in the process. The 30-year-old striker tied Dwayne De Rosario for the ninth-most goals in MLS history with his 104th regular-season goal. The striker was a prolific goalscorer for his previous team Atlanta United.

The outcome means that Inter Miami's players have gained points in their last two contests as new head coach Tata Martino watches on. Once his work visa is approved, the former Barcelona and Argentina manager will be tasked with orchestrating a rise up the standings in the upcoming months. He represents yet another victory for the team.

The club's newcomers will now be hoping that the point against the Crew keeps their playoff aspirations alive even though they have gone nine league games without a victory. The Floridan team is currently in the final playoff spot after 20 rounds, about nine points behind Montreal.

For the team to have a chance of qualifying for the premier postseason tournament, they must remain within striking distance of the teams above them. Messi is scheduled to play his debut game in a Herons uniform against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup on July 21.

When will Messi make his Inter Miami debut?

With a small adjustment to the 2023 Leagues Cup schedule, Lionel Messi will receive centre stage treatment on his Inter Miami debut. WHAT OCCURED? The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner is anticipated to debut for his new MLS team on July 21 against Cruz Azul.

Is Messi about to join Inter Miami?

Lionel Messi has been the subject of much conjecture in Barcelona and elsewhere recently regarding his whereabouts, but he has now officially announced that he will be joining Inter Miami CF in Major League Soccer.

Met Office UK Weather Forecast Heatwave

Met Office UK Weather Forecast Heatwave

Many people are unsure if the UK will see another sweltering 40C heatwave this summer, similar to the one from the previous year, as global temperatures continue to rise.

There is widespread speculation that the nation may experience a brutal heatwave this month because weather maps indicate that temperatures may rise in the next several days.

With temperatures in June breaking all-time highs, the UK summer has already gotten hotter. The Met Office reports that June temperatures last month were the highest on record for the month.

Early in the formal summer season, temperatures climbed beyond 30C, causing water shortages, fish mortality in rivers, and heat-related health concerns.

According to the Met Office, "the background warming of the Earth's atmosphere due to human-induced climate crisis" was what was behind the extremely high temperatures.

He said that last month "started with a good deal of high pressure and initially around average temperatures for many, but once that subsided, warm, humid air began to influence temperatures, with 32.2C the highest temperatures reached."

The average mean temperature for June was 15.8C, breaking the previous record by 0.9C while only 0.1C separated the prior top three Junes.

The forecaster conducted a quick analysis and found that during the time around 1940, the likelihood of a June breaking the previous record of 14.9C has at least doubled.

The probability of setting new records in the UK has increased, according to Paul Davies, principle fellow for Met Office climate extremes and chief meteorologist, as a result of rising average world temperatures, which are currently standing at 1.2C.

A heatwave is defined by the Met Office as three days in a row with daily maximum temperatures that are equal to or higher than the heatwave temperature threshold.

However, this limit varies from 25C in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and the North and South West of England to 28C in some areas of South East England.

The UK has not yet suffered the same sweltering temperatures as last year, when vast portions of the nation roasted in exceptionally high temperatures that first broke the 40C threshold and caused wildfires, transport disruptions and thousands of untimely deaths.

High global temperatures, with several nations in Asia, Africa, and Europe breaking records, preceded last year's unprecedented heat. The heatwave would have been "extremely unlikely" in the absence of the climate crisis, according to the World Weather Attribution (WWA).

Again this year, all indications point to a hotter summer. There are already dozens of nations in Asia and Europe suffering from earlier than usual heat as a result of the onset of the El Nino weather phenomenon in the Pacific.

For a third week in a row, scorching heat has permeated much of the US South and parts of Mexico. More than a dozen deaths in Texas and Louisiana have been attributed to the continuous triple-digit heatwave, which has been made worse by climate change. There has also been an increase in emergency care visits.

Numerous meteorologists have forecast that the UK will see worsening heat in the next days based on these indicators.

According to the current Met Office forecast, there is a greater chance of "above-average temperatures" in the second half of this week, which raises the probability of heatwaves.

The forecaster also highlighted last week that, in contrast to media forecasts of numerous heatwaves hitting the UK, there is currently no indication of exceptionally hot weather in the coming few days.

Long-range projections are frequently unreliable due to shifting weather patterns, but experts indicated a recurrence of extremely high temperatures above 40°C cannot be completely ruled out.

Even if summertime temperatures don't rise above 40 degrees Celsius, vulnerable groups may still face health hazards from excessive heat. 3,000 people died in England and Wales as a result of the heatwave last year, according to the UK Health Security Agency.

According to numerous scientific reports, the climate issue is causing an increase in heatwave frequency and intensity.

Although the UK has had warm spells in the past, Mr. Kendon noted that climate change has increased the frequency and severity of these warm weather events and increased the possibility that high temperature records will be broken, as we witnessed with the UK's yearly temperature in 2022.

According to the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), the world has already warmed by around 1.2C since the start of the industrial age, and the coming years are predicted to be the warmest on record due to El Nino.

The world is on track to surpass the critical 1.5C threshold of average global warming if current trends continue. The world has already momentarily surpassed this benchmark set by the historic Paris Agreement this year.

The heatwaves have not only caused destruction on land; in June, sea surface temperatures worldwide broke records, with the UK's coastal waters witnessing a "unheard-of" marine heatwave.

The UK government, however, received criticism from its own climate advisors on Wednesday for its sluggish progress towards its "net zero" greenhouse gas emissions target and retreat on fossil fuel pledges.

Britain has "lost its clear global leadership position on climate action," according to the Climate Change Committee (CCC).

Will the summer of 2023 in the UK be hot?

It stated: "While [there is] an increased chance it will be hotter than average, it's not possible to forecast a specific number of heatwaves for summer." The Met Office also stated that there is just a "slightly increased chance of hot spells" in its long-range forecast for the two-week period between July 15 and July 29.

Are heatwave conditions forecast for the UK?

There isn't currently a heat wave of 40 degrees Celsius in the works since the longer the forecast, the harder it is to predict the weather.

How To Get Rid Of Thunder Bugs

How To Get Rid Of Thunder Bugs

How to recognise and get rid of thunder bugs WITHOUT causing garden damage during a thrip infestation

Every summer as temperatures increase and people's crops prosper, THRIPS, also known as thunder bugs, erupt into people's gardens. How are thunder bugs eliminated?

Every summer, a large number of insects proliferate as they emerge from their winter and spring hiding places. Ants, beetles, flies, and bees will all make their appearance about the same time that thrips do. However, unlike some of their cousins, people can discover that thrips rob their gardens of life.

Thrips are sometimes referred to as the stranger thunder bug by aficionados of insects.

Unfortunately, thunder bug activity will hinder gardeners' attempts to grow a produce for the summer.

Thunder bugs love a variety of host plants, including colourful flowers and crops.

The thrips' natural enemies, such as tiny pirate bugs, ladybirds, or lacewings, all of which attack them at different stages of infection, can also be of use to gardeners. In the event that none of these choices work, individuals can turn to pesticides, particularly low-toxicity varieties manufactured from byproducts of plants.

Thunder flies live where?

The thunderbug, which is also referred to as the thunder fly, storm bug, corn fly, corn lice, thunder blights and harvest fly, is typically found close to agricultural area. The insect has about 6,000 different species, and without a microscope, it would be difficult to distinguish between them.

Do lightning bugs represent thunder?

Thrips are commonly referred to as "thunderbugs," "thunder flies," or "storm flies" in various parts of Europe because they are thought to be connected with thunderous weather in large flocks.

How long do thunder bugs last?

How much time do thunderflies live? Thunderflies only take one to two weeks to reach maturity and then have a lifespan of about 45 days. Fortunately, these pests won't bother your home or yard for a long time; their main issue season is the summer.

What causes thunder fly deaths?

Finding thunder flies early is your greatest hope for getting rid of them. Apply neem oil, insecticidal soaps, or narrow-range oil wherever you see the bugs. These techniques will cut down on the number of thunder flies, which will make getting rid of them simpler.

A thunder fly is what?

The Thysanoptera, an order of insects, includes thrips, sometimes referred to as thunder flies. There are over 150 species in Britain. Despite the fact that many feed by consuming the sap from leaves and flowers, many do not significantly harm the host plants. However, a few species can mottle some houseplants and garden plants.

Great White Sharks Cornwall

Great White Sharks Cornwall

Greg Skomal, a shark biologist, stated that great whites were expected to be off the coast of Cornwall based on behaviour, and it was puzzling why none had been found. "There are no known white sharks off Cornwall," he declared. We don't understand why they aren't where they should be. Regarding Mr. Fischer and Ocearch's ambitions, he continued, "I would be surprised if he finds a single shark."

Great white sharks may be swimming off the coasts of Cornwall and Ireland, according to a research team from the United States that intends to visit the country the following year. According to a report in the Times, Chris Fischer, the creator of the nonprofit organisation Ocearch, which has tagged more than 400 sharks, claimed he intended to have a ship off the shore.

According to him, white sharks may be travelling north from the Mediterranean each summer through the shores of Cornwall and Ireland, mimicking activity they have observed off the US coast. We think that, like all the other populations we have studied, Mediterranean white sharks should be migrating north to feast on seals. "We think they should be moving up past Brest [in Brittany] and Cornwall," he continued.

Ocearch, a company that gathers data from the ocean to aid scientists, intends to visit Britain next summer in the hopes of spotting great whites. White shark sightings off Cornwall have not been reported, according to Fischer of Ocearch, in part because no one has been looking for them. "We are hoping to have a ship over there," he stated for the upcoming summer.

The largest predatory fish on Earth, the great white, can be found in all of the world's oceans, however they are most frequently seen close to South Africa, other regions of Africa, California, and New Zealand.

Because they have no trouble travelling great distances in quest of prey, according to scientists, they can be found all over the planet.

Shark expert and biologist Georgia Jones, who is located in Dorset, concurred. If they had been before our seals, there would have been proof, right? She claimed that the Mediterranean had a modest shark population. "They basically think they got lost when they first migrated in there," she said.

The methods used by Ocearch, in which sharks are raised out of the water to be tagged, according to De Maddalena, "are far too intrusive." According to him, "such a very intrusive study programme is not necessary just to show that the species is present in UK waters. White sharks are incredibly uncommon there, as is evident from the dearth of trustworthy observations of their presence there.

Are there great white sharks in Cornwall?

Great White Mysteries

With an estimated 10 million little and 100,000 larger sharks from 40 distinct species already swimming in the oceans around the UK, Devon and Cornwall are two of the country's biggest shark hotspots.

Has anyone spotted a big white shark in Cornwall?

He declared, "There are no known white sharks off Cornwall." They ought to be there, but they aren't, and we have no idea why. Although there are few great whites in the Mediterranean and not much is known about them or how they got there, they do exist.

Do great white sharks inhabit the UK?

The University of Plymouth's archives, however, show that great whites have been sighted in the UK since 1965, with around 100 credible but unconfirmed sightings recorded in the previous ten years.

British Grand Prix 2023 - British Grand Prix 2023 Tickets

British Grand Prix 2023

This weekend's British Grand Prix will take place, and Max Verstappen will attempt to win at Silverstone for the first time in order to extend his winning streak.

Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton have dominated the seven-time F1 champion's home race for the better part of a decade, and Red Bull hasn't won there since 2012. The track is only 30 minutes away from their Milton Keynes facility.

In recent years, Formula One has made several memorable and frequently contentious trips to our shores. Verstappen's prospects of winning the race last year were stopped by damage after environmental protestors invaded the course. In 2021, Hamilton memorably eliminated his title challenger, and the Dutchman was also denied a victory the previous year due to a string of late tyre failures.

Few would have predicted that Verstappen, the current world champion who is riding a five-race winning streak and Red Bull, who won in Austria last week, would have a similar result in 2023.

But a resurgent Ferrari, erratic Mercedes, Fernando Alonso's constant danger, and, of course, some possibly unfavourable weather conditions might make this a Silverstone to remember.

When is the British Grand Prix?

The British Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Silverstone this weekend.

British Grand Prix full schedule

The timings for practice, qualifying and the race are as follows (all times BST):

  • First practice: Friday, 12.30pm
  • Second practice: Friday, 4pm
  • Third practice: Saturday, 12.30pm
  • Qualifying: Saturday, 3pm
  • Race: Sunday, 3pm

British Grand Prix weather forecast

Even though the weekend is still a few days away, Friday's first and second practise at Silvestone are expected to be warm and sunny.

Then, things start to become interesting. Thunderstorms and rain are both possible for Saturday afternoon, which might make qualifying somewhat disastrous for both teams and fans.

As of this writing, there is a 40% probability of rain by the time of the race on Sunday.

How to watch the British Grand Prix

TV station: Channel 4 and Sky Sports will both broadcast the entire racing weekend in the UK on terrestrial television.

Fans may watch the live broadcast for free on All4 while Sky Sports subscribers can use the Sky Go app.

Has the 2023 British Grand Prix sold out?

The 2023 Grand Prix's general admission tickets are currently sold out, but motorsport ticketing is still selling hospitality packages. These may get you anything from a catered lunch menu to VIP track side access, and they are currently on sale.

When does F1 season 2023 begin?

The following Formula One competition will be the 2023 British Grand Prix on Sunday, July 9 at 3 p.m. local time. Qualification takes place on the Saturday at 3 p.m. local time. The following is the complete UK schedule for the British GP weekend: First practise: 12:30–13:30 on Friday, July 7.

What is the price of F1 tickets?

In 2023, budget spectators will shell out, on average, about $600 USD to attend a race. The least expensive races are in Hungary, Austria, and Imola (all costing less than $400 USD), while the most expensive races are in Las Vegas, Abu Dhabi, the United States, and Miami, costing between $950 and $1,040 USD each. On average, midrange fans will shell out around.
